• Proposed mode: Full light rail
• Service south of Alexandria and at Arlington Cemetery replaces the eliminated Yellow and rerouted Blue Metro Lines.
• More than any other proposed light rail lines, S-Southside acts to move commuters in addition to local neighborhood traffic in a fashion similar to that of existing Metro lines.
• The M Street alignment should help to reduce congestion on the Metro Orange / Blue Lines in Downtown DC.
