  Logan Circle, DC
      Duponts forgotten twin

Statistics currently unavailable.

Focused around Rhode Island Avenue, Vermont Avenue and Thirteenth Street, Logan Circle is the overlooked opposite of Dupont Circle. That is, if you looked at a map of the roads in DC you’d see a partially symmetrical layout with two particularly large, important circles. Dupont is well-known, expensive and cosmopolitan. Logan, on the other hand, remains quiet, primarily residential, and less expensive (though parts of it are certainly pricey).

A few blocks down from Logan Circle sits Thomas Circle, which is functionally the border in to Downtown.

Visually speaking the neighborhood surrounding these circles seems to have not been gutted quite as severely as those in nearby Georgia Avenue corridor areas, even if it did suffer to some extent. Likewise its separation from the Connecticut Avenue corridor seems to have kept it from really taking off the way Dupont did. As you move closer to Downtown it’s nicer and as you move closer to Shaw it’s more gritty.

Gentrification is rapidly approaching, however. Just south of Logan Circle along 12th Street there's an enormous amount of residential construction going on. Almost every block has some sort of apartment building being built. The question facing this neighborhood now isn't what is it looks like today, but rather what will it look like in 10 years? Might it rival Dupont? Probably not, but it's a pleasant dream.
