Along the Wisconsin Avenue corridor near Chevy Chase, Tenleytown is one of the Districts’s more affluent neighborhoods. It’s also home to some of the tallest structures in the city - transmission towers that reach up to almost 800 feet in height.
Populated primarily by single family detached homes and duplexes, Tenleytown is more suburban than most DC neighborhoods. Although even less dense than places like Brookland, it does have a great deal of architectural diversity. One is likely to find styles rare elsewhere in town; Tudor and Southwest Mission, for instance.
