Along Connecticut Avenue just north of Rock Creek Park, Woodley Park is functionally the beginning of the Northwest Connecticut / Massachusetts / Wisconsin Corridor. It’s home to the National Zoo, many foreign embassies, and the US Navy Observatory - home to the Vice President.
Reagan was shot at the Hilton Hotel in Woodley Park. That’s what the neighborhood is most famous for. It’s kind of unfortunate, too, because between the embassies and mansions of Kalorama and the shops lining Connecticut Avenue, it isn’t a bad neighborhood. Not as dense as the Georgia Avenue corridor, to be sure; and it pales in comparison to Adams Morgan, just across the park. Still though, Woodley Park can be an interesting place to hang out, and, if you’ve got the money, an interesting place to live.
